In addition to training, the IOP hosts a number of downwind events throughout the year.
These range from short “pop-up” races from Trigg to Sorrento to the West Coast Downwinder from Port Beach to Sorrento, with distances in between.

2026/27 IOP Summer Series
The Summer Series races are on our doorstep. Starting Saturday, 12 September, with the first of the Summer Series races, and finishing with the Fenn West Coast Downwinder on 28 November, this promises to be one of the best seasons yet…weather permitting.
And to celebrate the racing season, the IOP are putting on a West Coast Downwinder After-Party, with local Perth-based outfit, Perfect Alibi. Catch up with paddlers from all over, while enjoying a bite to eat and a couple of quiet drinks.
